GERD, heavier than Ulcer

Incidentally yesterday I just translated a questionnaire containing about GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) is a chronic disease characterized by the flow of stomach acid (reflux) into the esophagus. Although I am not in charge of health / medicine, at least I managed to find some sources that can be used as a reference.

Indeed every person would want to be healthy, but sometimes habits, lifestyle, diet, sleep patterns make a person vulnerable to various diseases. One of them is this disease. Emphasis from the search results I get, for those who are overweight, please be on the lookout for this disease because. The disease is more severe than ulcer disease. Do not know why fat people are always close to the disease, and what I fear most is diseases like hypertension and diabetes. But it turns out obese people also face the risk of "light" disease like this. An average of 20% of adult US population experience GERD symptoms at least once a week. Severe GERD will cause ulcers (ulcers)

The symptoms of GERD disease are the feeling / sensation of heat in the chest (or more precisely behind the breastbone - as I get from the translating result of yesterday), the acidic taste rises to the tongue feeling bitter and acidic (regurgitation). This is because fat deposits and pressure in the stomach getting bigger. The action should be done to avoid the above symptoms of controlling weight to normal proportions.

This disease is classified as dyspepsia syndrome, which describes the existence of a collection or symptoms consisting of nausea, vomiting, pain or a sense of security in the solar plexus. In addition to weight control, other prevention is to control stress by maintaining a quality rest. Besides reducing or stopping smoking (wah if this seems difficult) and reduce the consumption of certain drugs. Also avoid spicy foods, beverages that trigger increased stomach acid. For example, coffee or sour taste (this is also difficult).

However, GERD is not only threatening to someone who is overweight, asthma patients, pregnant women and psychiatric disorders or psychic stress can get this disease. In order not to get GERD, here are the things that can be used as guidelines (and treatment):

  1.     Avoid things that can increase stomach acid production and weaken LES as foods with high acidity and fatty acids (hamburgers, oranges, tomatoes), coffee, tea, alcohol, and chocolate.
  2.     Divide your portion into several smaller portions instead of overeating at a time. Do not eat late at night. Do not lie down immediately after eating.
  3.     Control weight and stop smoking. Achieve ideal weight because obesity will put extra pressure on LES.
  4.     Stop smoking because tobacco will increase stomach acid production and weaken LES.
  5.     Avoid slouching forward unless it should be because this increases the pressure on the LES.
  6.     Do not use a tight belt or clothing.
  7.     Raise the head position of your bed 6-10 inches because lying flat causes stomach acid up into the esophagus.
  8.     Check or consult your doctor before taking any painkillers that can make your GERD symptoms worse.
  9.     Make sure that your doctor knows all the medications you are taking.

The most commonly used drugs are antacids that are widely circulated in the market. This type of drug was standard therapy in the 1970s and was effective in controlling mild GERD symptoms. Generally, antacids are consumed after each meal and before bedtime. In addition to the antacid secretion (release) of stomach acid can also be derived with drugs from histamine 2 receptor antagonist groups, such as cimetidine, ranitidine, famotidine, etc. One very effective drug is from the proton pump inhibitor groups, such as omeprazole. This highly effective omeprazole is safe for long-term consumption

I am sure everybody wants to live healthy, with various efforts to keep health condition, but one thing that should not be forgotten: in healthy sauce, we must remember when we are sick, and in sickness we must remember when we are healthy, If we are in one position we will not forget and get lost.

Obesity triggers stomach acid

Obesity or excess weight can cause damage to the organs and bring your body to a bad medical condition and at risk of disease attack, and not even a little lead to death. Serious diseases such as stroke, heart attack, diabetes and so on will increase along with your weight gain, therefore weight loss is the best and precise solution to avoid the risk of attacking a dangerous disease that can be life-threatening. Other facts also reveal, that obesity can cause digestive disorders such as stomach, as has been discussed earlier also cause stomach acid, that is indeed overweight or obesity trigger stomach acid.

Excessive consumption of food can cause obesity, and excessive eating activity also can cause GERD disease (gastroesophageel reflux disease), so of course obese people can be at risk of stomach acid, because excess weight can increase the pressure in the stomach, and can encourage acid Stomach rises or flows back upward into the esophagus or esophagus, and adversely affects the condition of the GERD symptoms itself. So that obese people who are also at risk of suffering from stomach acid will feel the burning sensation of pain and pressure around the chest and neck as fat presses the stomach area. And increase the pressure on the surrounding muscles that can force open stomach acid. Increases pressure on the muscle rings that lie below the esophagus, which is where the muscle rings are about 10 inches long, which is the throat to the abdomen. So that the condition does not obesity can prevent the return of stomach acid is rising.

A study conducted in 2005 revealed that the risk of acid reflux stomach can be increased in people who are overweight or obese. So by losing weight or reducing a few kilograms of weight in obese people can provide long-term solution to the problem of high stomach acid and heartburn. In addition to your weight diet, stomach acid is also recommended for diet from cigarettes, soft drinks, caffeinated, alcoholic, high cholesterol foods and so on that can cause stomach acid recurrence or weight gain. In addition, you can take steps that can be done to reduce the recurrence of stomach acid is not to over eat, but remember do not remain excessive in small portions but often, and do not eat at the same time many, so this is what can cause stomach acid Also obesity. Eat slowly and do not rush.

If your stomach acid disease always relapse 1-2 times a month and still feel light or not excessive, it usually does not need medical treatment. Because it certainly can still be overcome by changing the pattern of life as mentioned above. In addition, you can also consume gastric acid relief medication if symptoms occur and work in relieving and reducing the symptoms.

Symptoms of chest pain are one of the most common reasons a person goes to the Emergency Unit. The reason that is indeed one of the characteristics of a heart attack. That must address as soon as possible.

However, of the total number of patients with chest pain who enter the ER, some of them have heartburn.

Indeed, it is rather difficult to distinguish the pain caused by a heart attack with heartburn. That is what often makes people with high stomach acid feel panic when feeling heartburn.

  3. Pain below the breastbone usually comes after eating, when lying down, while exercising, or when experiencing anxiety.
  4. Symptoms of a sharp rise in the stomach immediately erase after taking antacid medication.
  5. They rarely accompanied by cold sweat.

While symptoms of angina, aka severe chest pain or can also be called heart attack symptoms, include:

  1. Shortness of breath.
  2. A feeling of tightness, and there is pressure to the pain, generally felt in the middle of the chest. It feels like a belt fitted very tight around the chest.
  3. Pain in the chest comes abruptly or accompanied by the pressure that is getting worse.
  4. Dizziness.
  5. Pain may spread to the shoulders, neck, jaw, or arm.
