Prevent Stomach Cancer
Stomach cancer, or cancer of the stomach lining, killing more than 10,000 Americans each year, according to the National Cancer Institute. An additional 20,000 Americans receive a diagnosis of the disease each year. Drinking carrot juice can help prevent stomach cancer. A study published in the February 2007 issue of The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition shows that vitamin A, a supply of carrot nutrients, can reduce the risk of getting cancer. A serving of 1 cup carrot juice gives 45,133 IU of vitamin A, several times the recommended daily intake of 5,000 IU.
Keeping the Lining Stomach
Our stomach lining is called the gastric mucosa. It protects our abdominal cavity from micro-organisms and lubricates the food that reaches our stomach to help them move in that organ. Damage to the lining of the stomach can trigger many conditions, including heartburn and gastritis, or inflammation of the gastric mucosa. Vitamin A present in carrot juice can help prevent this problem. The study presented in December 2003 "Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology" shows that getting sufficient amounts of these vitamins helps prevent gastric mucosal damage. Because this study conduct on mouse models, human research is needed.
Affects the Sour
Getting enough fiber in we diet from carrot juice and other foods - 25 g daily for women and 38 g for men - help we feel full longer, especially by filling our stomach with fiber. Fuller, we feel, the less likely we are to consume food, which can help us lose weight. The August 2010 edition of the journal "Journal of the American College of Nutrition" notes that research subjects who ate high fiber foods displayed more significant weight loss than test subjects who did not consume a diet high in fiber. One serving of 1 cup carrot juice contributes 1.9 g of dietary fiber to our daily diet.
Preventing Gastroparesis
Drinking carrot juice can help prevent diseases known as gastroparesis, or delayed gastric emptying. It can trigger heartburn, stomach pain, vomiting, and stomach cramps. It often causes by diabetes, but we can avoid diabetes - and gastroparesis - thanks to vitamins and minerals in carrot juice. Magnesium, vitamin E, and vitamin C can reduce the risk of developing diabetes, and carrot juice contain all the nutrients. Including carrot juice in our eating plan protects our stomach.
